We verify what your battery actually delivered.

Two independent data sources. Cross-referenced continuously. Auditable, independently verifiable data your counterparties can rely on.

REVIEWABLE RECORD

Proving delivered battery performance
requires independent evidence.

Grid operators pay batteries to respond to frequency events. But the only proof of performance comes from the battery operator themselves. Self-reported data doesn't hold up in warranty disputes, refinancing conversations, or insurance renewals.

A 2025 analysis of over 100 fielded BESS systems found that 17% of BESS hardware failed to meet nameplate capacity at Site Acceptance Testing - before the warranty period even begins. EPRI's BESS Failure Incident Database found that 72% of failures occur within the first two years, and 89% trace to controls and balance-of-system - not cell defects. Lenders know this. That's why financing terms are worse than they should be - and why disputes drag on for months without resolution.

If your lender can't verify it, it doesn't exist.

Three steps from raw data
to bankable verification.

Read-only access to your BMS and the utility-owned revenue-grade meter. Two causally related data streams, cross-referenced for consistency. We never touch your controls.

1
Connect
Read-only access to your BMS and the utility-owned revenue meter. Two independent sources. Zero control access.
2
Cross-reference
Physics-based validation. What the BMS reports vs. what actually reaches the grid. Continuously, not once.
3
Report
Signed EnergyPassport delivered to your counterparty. Tamper-evident, independently auditable.

An EnergyPassport your lender
can actually use.

Built to change financing terms.

CAPACITY VERIFICATION
Actual vs. nameplate performance
Is your 200 MWh system actually delivering 200 MWh? We measure real energy throughput against rated capacity - continuously, not at a single point in time.
DEGRADATION CURVES
Trending that shows remaining life
Degradation rates determine remaining economic life. Our trending data lets lenders model future revenue with third-party verified inputs - not OEM projections.
REVENUE VERIFICATION
Proof of what the asset earned
Revenue is verified per-stream against grid meter data and ISO settlement records. Did the battery deliver what it was paid for? The EnergyPassport answers with evidence, not claims.

Continuous compliance monitoring
for your warranty envelope.

Denied BESS warranty claims consistently fail on evidence. EnergyPassport monitors the parameters your warranty requires and documents compliance continuously - so the evidence exists before you need it.

ENVELOPE COMPLIANCE
Operating conditions vs. warranty terms
Temperature, SOC, C-rate, depth of discharge, cycle count - tracked against your specific warranty terms. Continuous proof that you operated within spec.
DISPATCH ACCOUNTABILITY
Proves who controlled the dispatch
When a scheduling coordinator over-cycles your battery beyond warranty limits, our Dispatch Accountability Certificate documents that you didn't control the decision that voided your warranty.
ON-DEMAND DATA EXPORTS
On-demand, signed, tamper-evident
When you need data - for a warranty claim, an insurance renewal, or a lender report - we produce a signed data export from the continuous monitoring record. Ready in days, not months.

Designed for technical
scrutiny and dispute review.

DUAL TELEMETRY
Two causally related data streams
Revenue-grade meter vs. BMS. The battery causes the grid meter reading - discrepancies reveal data errors, miscalibration, or misreporting.
READ-ONLY
Zero operational risk
Read-only data access. Monitoring cannot affect performance. Your operations team has nothing to worry about.
RETROACTIVE
Verify from Day 1 - or Day 1,000
Have historical BMS logs? We verify past performance from existing data exports. Confidence levels noted where data gaps exist.
REVIEWABLE
Designed for independent scrutiny
Auditable methodology, chain-of-custody documentation, and expert witness availability. Designed for warranty disputes and arbitration.

The problems that cost you money -
caught before they do.

Every report answers the questions lenders, insurers, and warranty counsel actually ask. No other verification provider catches all eight.

TAMPERED DATA
Someone changed the numbers.
How we catch it
BMS data gets backfilled, interpolated, and "corrected" before it reaches your desk. Every EnergyPassport record is cryptographically signed at collection. Any alteration is mathematically detectable.
FABRICATED EVENTS
The event never happened.
How we catch it
Reported dispatch events are cross-referenced against independent grid conditions. Backdated responses, replayed data, and fabricated event windows are flagged automatically.
IMPOSSIBLE PERFORMANCE
The numbers don't add up.
How we catch it
Reported performance that violates physics - energy from nowhere, capacity exceeding nameplate, efficiency that breaks thermodynamics. If the math is impossible, we catch it.
METER DISCREPANCIES
The BMS and the grid meter disagree.
How we catch it
The battery says 95 MWh. The grid meter says 87 MWh. Dual-telemetry cross-referencing catches discrepancies that single-source monitoring will never see.
ACCELERATED DEGRADATION
The asset is dying faster than modeled.
How we catch it
Continuous degradation trending and remaining economic life estimation. Know whether your asset will still be bankable in Year 5 - not after the warranty claim fails in Year 6.
COVENANT BREACHES
You're about to trip a covenant.
How we catch it
Operating conditions mapped against warranty terms, SLA requirements, and government program thresholds. Early warning before a covenant breach, clawback trigger, or warranty exclusion.
SOC DIVERGENCE
The BMS is lying about state of charge.
How we catch it
BMS-reported SOC can drift from actual energy content as cells age. Independent energy accounting cross-references reported SOC against measured energy flows to detect divergence before it affects warranty claims.
DATA QUALITY
The data has gaps, backfills, or interpolation.
How we catch it
Incomplete or processed data undermines any analysis built on it. We score data quality across completeness, resolution, gap frequency, and temporal coverage, then flag where confidence is reduced. Every EnergyPassport notes exactly what the data can and cannot support.

Traditional IE assessments check one or two of these. Operations dashboards check zero. EnergyPassport runs all eight continuously, with cryptographic chain of custody on every record.
