Overview Synthetic Inertia Investors Asset Owners Contact

Detect. Respond. Verify. Settle.

SynthGrid coordinates battery-based inertia response at machine speed, independently verifies every event through a distributed oracle network, and settles verified responses as tradeable tokens on a public ledger.

From physical measurement to financial settlement.

Each layer operates independently. No single component can fabricate, suppress, or alter a verified event.

LAYER 01
Edge

Deployed on existing battery infrastructure. Monitors grid frequency in real-time, detects deviations, and coordinates synthetic inertia response. Captures telemetry and produces cryptographically signed bundles.

SIGNING Ed25519 (TPM-backed)
SAMPLE RATE 10 Hz continuous
COMPLIANCE NERC CIP read-only
LAYER 02
Oracle

Five independent validator nodes, each running the same 6-check verification pipeline. No single validator can approve or reject. Consensus requires 3-of-5 agreement. Byzantine fault tolerant.

CONSENSUS 3-of-5 BFT
CHECKS 6-point verification
LATENCY < 200ms per validation
LAYER 03
Settlement

Verified events are minted as tokens on a public ledger using multi-signature authorization. Settlement, escrow, and trading use native ledger primitives. No smart contracts required.

FINALITY 3-5 seconds
TX COST < $0.01 per settlement
MINTING Multi-sign (3-of-5 validator keys)

Every event passes four checkpoints.

From physical measurement to on-chain finality, each stage is independently auditable and cryptographically linked.

CHECKPOINT 01

Telemetry Capture

Grid-side and storage-side meters produce paired readings at 10 Hz. Event detection triggers when frequency deviation exceeds the regulatory deadband threshold.

SAMPLE_RATE: 10 Hz | DEADBAND: ±0.036 Hz
CHECKPOINT 02

Cryptographic Attestation

The edge device signs telemetry using a hardware-backed Ed25519 key. The bundle includes timestamps, readings, and the SHA-256 hash of all data, tamper-evident by construction.

ALGO: Ed25519 | HASH: SHA-256
CHECKPOINT 03

Oracle Consensus

Independent validators cross-reference telemetry against grid-wide data, recompute energy values, and check physics plausibility. Three of five must agree.

QUORUM: 3/5 | CHECKS: 6 per validator
CHECKPOINT 04

On-Chain Settlement

Consensus-verified events are minted as Inertia Response Unit tokens on a public ledger. Each token carries the full verification provenance in its metadata.

FINALITY: 3-5s | TOKEN: IRU (Multi-Purpose)
IRU TOKEN

Inertia Response Unit

The IRU is a new digital asset class created by the SynthGrid protocol. Each IRU token represents a single, cryptographically verified instance of synthetic inertia delivered to the grid. It proves that a battery responded to a frequency event, when it responded, how much energy it injected, and that independent validators confirmed it happened.

What it represents
A verified unit of grid stability service, measured in kW·s of frequency response
How it's created
Minted on XRPL only after 3-of-5 oracle validators reach consensus on the event's authenticity
What it enables
Instant settlement, transparent auditing, and the foundation for tradeable grid stability markets

Built for operators who run critical systems.

T+5s
Settlement Finality
From verified event to on-chain settlement in under 5 seconds. Traditional bilateral settlement takes T+30 days.
$0.01
Transaction Cost
Native ledger primitives with no smart contract gas fees. Mint, transfer, escrow, and burn at fractions of a cent.
6-Check
Verification Pipeline
Hash integrity. Signature verification. Physics plausibility. Energy recomputation. Every check independently auditable.
Read-Only
Zero Control Surface
The edge layer never controls the storage system. Read-only telemetry access. NERC CIP compliant by design.
BFT
Byzantine Fault Tolerance
3-of-5 consensus survives 2 compromised validators. Each node runs independently with its own signing keys.
$1M+
Attack Cost vs. $0.40 Token
Three-layer anti-gaming: tamper-evident physical meters, TPM-signed telemetry, multi-source cross-reference consensus.
